LAH To The Sea Run/Hike Marathon

The Los Altos Hills to the Sea Run/Hike Marathon (26.9miles) is a one way trek from the Los Altos Hills Purissima Park to the Half Moon Bay Poplar Beach at the ocean.  This route is being as both an single day event and listing it also as a hiking route for anybody to use at anytime.  This self supported trek is designed to be a non competitive completion event where your reward is enjoying the trails and company of your fellow runners and hikers.

Start Time: 7:30 AM

Start Location: LAH Purissima Fields, Los Altos Hills, CA

End Location: Poplar  Beach at Half Moon Bay, CA

Cost: FREE

 

Support: This event is a self supported event where you can start or finish anytime and there are no rewards or entry fee.  We encourage you to do the event with other friends and family at your preferred pace.      Information will be provide about various potential water,  restroom and food stops along the way.  Various hiking, running groups will be organized or organize your own group, support and return ride from Half Moon Bay.  We are planning a general group start at 7:30 AM at the ball fields but you can start anytime you want.  There will be no timing or recording of times so please record your own times.

Route:   The route attempts to use as many pathways, trails as possible and crosses several town trail systems, and county parks and mid pen open spaces.

Returning back to the starting area:  TDB – The route finishes in Half Moon Bay.  There are public buses that go from Half Moon Bay back to the Los Altos area or you can arrange and share a shuttle among your friends.

 

Sam Trans Bus Schedule –

On weekends, there is a bus that runs hourly from a bus stop near the end of this route called Bus Route 294 that will take you to the Cal Train Station at Hillsdale.  From Hillsdale you could take Cal Train to PA or MV near Los Altos.
